We still currently have no furniture in our living room, but we are really liking it! Our friends are over literally every day and we eat and play games and do other fun activities on the floor. We do have a rug though, and now a sweet coffee table that one of my roommate's dads made.
I went grocery shopping to stock the fridge with healthy food for the beginning of the school year. My favorite snack however is Totinos pizza rolls, so I went to buy a bag of them. HEB was running one of their deals where if you buy a box of 22 corn dogs, you get the pizza rolls for free. So I bought a box of 22 corn dogs that probably cost more than the bag of pizza rolls I originally wanted, but I was now getting them for free so I felt like I was getting the better end of the deal. I don't intend to ever consume 22 corn dogs, but now I'll be such a great hostess for when my friends come over and can make them eat them.
Couches come Friday. It's a little bittersweet....

Texas Tornado
My life has been a mini Texas tornado this past week or so. I've been "counseling" incoming freshmen for the past week out at Camp Texas where it was hot as dickens and fun as chickens... (?) By "counseling," I mean basically just running around, screaming, and having a ton of fun with them and showing them that not only is it OK, but it's cool, to be weird. (At least at UT.) I was Simba in a little counselor Lion King performance and got yogurt smeared all over my face at breakfast by Rafiki. The Lion King performance is a hit every year at camp. The campers were so awesome and so much fun; I hope they're all ready and excited to start life at UT!! Camp was a little bittersweet this year because it was my last time to be a counselor, but I couldn't have asked for better sessions!
The day I returned from camp I moved into my new apartment (running on three hours of sleep). It's all coming together really nicely, and I'm so excited for the semester ahead of me! We still need living room furniture, so for now we are channeling our inner-Japanese spirits and eating and watching tv on the floor. Not too bad though, I must say.
Not ready for school to start in a week. Can't believe it's junior year already! I read the syllabus for one of my classes today, and my professor charges $5 every time a student's phone goes off in class, and the proceeds are donated to a charity of the class' choice. Ha, only in Austin...

"Ashley Shopping at Ashley" ... Real clever sales guy
So I spent like 3 hours in Ashley Furniture today. I pretty much memorized the whole showroom, but I also tested out six different mattresses, so that occupied my time for a little while.
I also went and saw We're the Millers with a friend tonight, and it was better than I expected it would be! I got quite a few laughs out of it. (I love Jennifer Anniston.)
My sister turned 23 yesterday (shout out- Happy Birthday, Sis!) and a group of us went to the Train concert with Gavin DeGraw and The Script on Sunday night in ol' atx. It was really good! Except the lead singer of The Script kept saying how much they liked Austin and that they had never been before, when I definitely saw them play in Austin last year.... So I was like ummm....not cool.
As for now, I'm writing this blog post from my iPad because my wifi component of my laptop sucks and I can't even get Internet in my own room -_- So that's been annoying, except not too bad because I usually spend my time on my computer watching Game of Thrones from my hard drive. Almost to Season 3, people!
God bless!

Max Will Eat Anything
Yesterday I was at my grandma's, where I currently sit writing this blog post, and my grandma told me she had Twinkies in the freezer. Having never had a Twinkie, I decided I'd try one. I found out I don't particularly like Twinkies, but I really hate wasting food, so I didn't know what to do with the rest of it. My grandpa said to feed it to Max, because he'll eat anything. Max is their dog. He ate it.
Also yesterday, I went with my grandma to feed her cats in the barn, where she showed me one of her cats who she calls Missy. She cycled through three of four different spellings and pronunciations of "Missy," including Mitzi, before she settled on M-I-S-S-Y. I think that was a good choice.
I started watching Season 1 of Game of Thrones earlier this week. I can't remember her real name but the Dothrakian queen who they call Khaleesi is a badass. I think I'm going to like her.
